 In several passages of the Gospel, Jesus exhorts His followers that they are the salt of the Earth and light of the World.

The Christian message is a call to detachment from worldly things and values.

Detachment is not in the sense of contempt, but with the meaning of giving all its fair value.

It is known that the earthly achievements are fleeting and transitory.

Everything that concerns the material in the world has a great weakness.

Beauty, power, influence, fortune, everything, sooner or later, dies or changes hands.

Life is full of setbacks and the obstacles inherent to the human trajectory may ulcerate.

Who puts all its joys and expectations in these transitory achievements applies for strong disappointment.

The proposal in the Gospel is that you should live in the World but not belonging to the World.

Occupy yourself with activities that ensure dignity of life and the maintenance of social order.

Study, work, take care of your health and plan your own existence with prudence and discretion.

However, realize that the purpose of the live site is not limited to such aspects.

As much precious as the material conquers may be, one day, they will stay behind.

At the same time, the reversals of fortune do not always allow it to reach its intended goal.

Not even for that the human creature should become distressed or indifferent.

For well use of the time on Earth, it needs to learn giving each thing its deserved value.

Considering its potential to develop the intelligence and the willing, the most common dreams are possible.

However, its performance cannot be the aim of existence.

Knowing that one day the physical body will perish, it is important to take care of what it transcends.

There it is the possibility that the Christian message has to give a new flavor to human life.

Like salt, it works like a spice, gives a different attraction to what would otherwise be tasteless.

This is the invitation to experience the virtues with the potential to make the heart sweet and peaceful.

Jesus has shown the world a God full of love and wisdom.

The faith in this loving and wise God has the power to soothe the soul, between the struggles of the world.

Also, forgiveness is a liberating force, allowing us to keep going quietly through the attacks.

Compassion makes man pay attention to his neighbors and feel the desire to help them.

That can help man to not think a lot about his own problems and his life gets simpler.

The Gospel means Good News and its goal is to make men happy.

Does not promise a happiness made of unstable and perishable human achievements.

Although it assures a life of sweet emotions, with endless peacemaker potential.

Think about it.

A PROCURA DE DEUS

Uma velha narrativa indígena fala de um homem que, certo dia, sentiu uma grande necessidade de Deus.

Então, dentro de sua alma, sussurrou: Deus, fale comigo. Preciso imensamente ouvir Sua voz.

No mesmo instante, no galho próximo, o canto de um rouxinol encheu a natureza.

O homem não se apercebeu da beleza do canto, nem da mensagem que vinha na musicalidade e repetiu: Deus, fale comigo!

Nesse instante, a natureza modificou sua feição e um trovão ecoou nos céus.

Ainda assim, o homem foi incapaz de ouvir.

Olhou em volta e disse: Deus, deixe-me vê-lO.

E uma estrela brilhou no céu. Logo mais, milhões de pequenas lanternas brilharam por todo o manto da noite. A lua se desfez em luz de prata e se espelhou nas águas do lago.

Mas o homem não notou. Agora, quase desesperado, começou a falar mais alto: Deus, mostre-me um milagre.

E uma criança nasceu. Contudo, o homem não sentiu o pulsar da vida no novo ser que surgia, esperançoso.

O homem começou a chorar e disse: Deus, sinto-me tão só. Toque-me e deixe-me sentir que Você está aqui comigo...

E uma borboleta pousou suavemente em seu ombro, abrindo e fechando as asas multicoloridas.

O homem levantou o ombro e a espantou.

O estudo da natureza nos mostra, em todos os lugares, a ação de uma vontade oculta.

Por toda parte, a matéria obedece a uma força que a domina, organiza e dirige.

O espetáculo da natureza, o aspecto dos céus, das montanhas, dos mares, apresentam ao nosso Espírito a ideia de uma Inteligência oculta no Universo.

Em cada um de nós existem fontes de onde podem brotar ondas de vida e de amor, virtudes, potências inumeráveis.

É aí, nesse santuário íntimo, que se pode procurar Deus. Deus está em nós. As almas refletem Deus como as gotas do orvalho da manhã refletem os raios do sol, cada um deles segundo o seu próprio brilho e grau de pureza.

É dentro de si mesmos que todos os homens de gênio, os grandes missionários e os profetas, conheceram Deus e Suas leis e as revelaram aos povos da Terra.

É consolador poder caminhar na vida com a fronte levantada para os céus, sabendo que, mesmo nas tempestades, no meio das mais cruéis provas, no fundo dos cárceres, como à beira dos abismos, uma Providência, uma Lei Divina, paira sobre nós.

Um Pai que observa os nossos atos e que, de nossas lutas, de nossas lágrimas, faz sair a nossa própria glória e a nossa felicidade.

À procura de Deus

An old Indian narrative tells of a man who, one day, he felt a great need for God.

Then, inside your soul, whispered: God, talk to me. Need immensely to hear his voice.

At the same moment, on the branch around the corner of a red-filled nature.

The man realized the beauty of singing, or of the message that was on musicality and repeated: God, talk to me!

In that instant, the nature has changed its look and Thunder echoed in the heavens.

Still, the man was unable to hear.

Looked around and said: God, let me see it.

And a star shone in the sky. Soon, millions of small lanterns shone throughout the mantle of night. The Moon disbanded in light of silver and mirrored in the waters of the Lake.

But the man did not notice. Now, almost desperate, began to speak louder: God, show me a miracle.

And a child was born. However, the man did not feel the pulse of life in the new be that rose, hopeful.

The man began to cry and said: God, I feel so alone. Touch me and let me feel that You are here with me ...

And a butterfly landed softly on your shoulder, opening and closing the multicolored wings.

The man lifted his shoulder and amazed.

The study of nature shows us, everywhere, the action of a hidden desire.

Everywhere, matter obeys a force that dominates, organizes and directs.

The spectacle of nature, the aspect of the heavens, mountains, seas, present to our Mind the idea of a hidden Intelligence in the universe.

In each of us there are sources from where they can sprout waves of life and love, virtues, powers countless.

Is there, in this intimate sanctuary, one can find God. God is in us. The souls God reflect how the drops of morning dew reflect the Sun's rays, each one according to its own brightness and purity.

Is within themselves that all men of genius, the great missionaries and prophets knew God and his laws and revealed to the people of the Earth.

It is comforting to be able to walk in life with the forehead lifted to the heavens, knowing that even in storms, in the middle of the most cruel tests, at the bottom of the prisons, as on the brink of the abyss, a Providence, a divine law, hovers over us.

A parent who observes our acts and our struggles, our tears, loosens our own glory and our happiness.

E já é Ano Novo, outra vez

Quando chega, é sempre pleno de esperanças. Espera-se o Ano Novo para começar vida nova, para estabelecer novas metas de vida, propósitos renovados para tantas coisas...

É comum as pessoas elaborarem suas listas de bons propósitos para o novo ano.

Mesmo sabendo que o tempo somente existe em função dos movimentos estabelecidos pelo planeta em que nos encontramos, é interessante essa movimentação individual, toda vez que o novo período convencional de um ano reinicia.

Mas, falando de lista de bons propósitos, já se deu conta que, quase sempre, esquecemos o que listamos?

Alguns até esquecemos onde guardamos a tal lista, o que  atesta da  pouca disposição em perseguir os itens elencados.

Ano Novo deve ter um significado especial.

Embora o tempo seja sempre o mesmo, essa convenção se reveste de importância na medida em que, nos condicionando ao início de uma etapa diferente, renovada, sintamo-nos emulados a uma renovação.

Renovação de hábitos, de atitudes, como estar mais com a família, reorganizando as horas do trabalho profissional.

Importar-se mais com os filhos, lembrando-se de não somente indagar se já fizeram a lição, mas participar, olhando, lendo as observações feitas pelos professores nos cadernos, interessando-se pelos conteúdos disciplinares.

Sair mais com as crianças, não somente para passeios como a praia, a viagem de férias.

Mas, no dia a dia, um momento para um lanche e uma conversa, uma saída para deliciar-se com um sorvete.

Outros, para só ficar olhando a carinha lambuzada de chocolate, literalmente afundando-se na taça de sorvete.

Outros, mais longos, para acompanhar o passo vacilante de quem está aprendendo a andar.

Uma tarde para um papo com os que já estão preparando a mochila para se retirar do cenário desta vida, quem sabe, nos próximos meses?

Isto é viver Ano Novo. Sair com amigos, abraçar amigos, sorrir pelo simples prazer de sorrir.

Trocar e-mails afetuosos, não somente os corriqueiros que envolvam decisões e finanças. Usar o telefone para dar um olá, desejar boa viagem, feliz aniversário!

Bom, você também pode fazer propósitos de comer menos doces ou diminuir os carboidratos da sua dieta, visando melhor condição de vida ou simplesmente adequar seu peso.

Também pode pensar em mudar o visual. Quem sabe modificar o corte de cabelo, tentar pentear para outro lado, fazer uma visita ao dentista.

E é claro, um bom check-up. Porque cuidar da saúde é essencial.

Bom mesmo é não esquecer de formular propósitos para sua alma.

Assim, acrescente na lista: estudar mais, ler mais, entender mais o outro, devotar-se a um trabalho voluntário, servir a alguém com alegria e bom ânimo.

Com certeza, cada um terá outros muitos itens a serem acrescentados à lista.

Até mesmo coisas simples como alterar os roteiros de idas e vindas do trabalho-lar-escola.

Ou coisas mais complicadas, como se dispor a pensar um pouco no outro e não exclusivamente em si, no relacionamento a dois.

Imprescindível, no entanto, é que você coloque a lista à vista, para olhar muitas vezes, durante todo o novo ano.

Importante que se lembre de lê-la, para ir acompanhando o que já conseguiu e onde ou em que ainda precisa investir mais, insistindo, até a vitória.

Seja este Ano Novo o ano de concretas realizações na sua vida!
